The Newport Collective operates as a co-operative, and the tasks involved in running the shop and the co-operative are shared by all the members.

The Collective always welcomes applications to join from like-minded artists and makers. There is no membership fee, however the shop is staffed and run by the makers, and members are required to work in the shop on a regular basis and to attend and contribute to meetings. Sales made from the Collective's shop in Newport are subject to a 30% commission charge. This charge covers the costs of running the business.
As a co-operative, the selection of makers to join the group is carried out on a democratic basis and members present have a chance to meet with you and talk about your work before electing you to the group.If you would like to join the Collective please contact us to find out the date of the next selection meeting.
